Chocolate Cream Cheese Sandwiches
Rev. 28-Jan-2004
- 8 oz. cream cheese (1 pkg)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp. Vanilla
- 2 oz. melted semisweet chocolate (2 squares)
- 1 TB liqueur or whiskey (I used Knob Hill)
- Load of marble pound cake, cut in half and then sliced parallel to bottom
to make slices approximately the size of sandwich bread.
(If you ask them nicely, the bakery people should be able to
cut it in half and run it through the bread slicing machine.)
Soften cream cheese. Beat together on medium speed with sugar and vanilla.
Mix in vanilla, then melted chocolate, and then the liqueur if used.
Butter the "bread" and use about 3-4 TB of the mixture
as the "cheese" and grill the sandwich.
Jan. 2004, Chaz Boston Baden, adapted from what I used for
the 2nd Annual Grilled Cheese
Invitational party, such as it was.
