Anita's Gingersnaps

[I made these cookies for my father and grandfather for Father's Day and they enjoyed them. I used eggs this time but egg whites will work with the same results. -Anita]

Gingersnaps

   3/4    c             margarine -- softened
   1/4    c             molasses
   1                    egg
   2 1/4  c             unbleached flour
   1      c             brown sugar -- packed
   1      tsp           baking soda
   2      tsps          ginger
   1      tsp           cloves
   2      tsps          cinnamon
   1/4    c             granulated sugar

Preheat oven at 375. In a mixing bowl, combine margarine, molasses, and egg. In another mixing bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking soda, ginger, cloves, and cinnamon. Mix wet ingredients with dry ingredients just until moistened. Shape dough into 1" balls. Roll balls in granulated sugar to coat. Place balls 2" apart onto unprepared baking sheets. Bake for 10 minutes or till edges are set and tops are crackled.
