Ginger Snaps - 325 F

Here is the recipe for the good ginger snaps.

Preheat oven to 325 F.

Cream: 3/4 cup butter
with: 2 cups sugar
Stir in: 2 well-beaten eggs
1/2 cup molasses
2 teaspoons vinegar
Sift and add: 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons soda
2 to 3 teaspoons ginger (I used 3)
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cloves

Mix ingredients until blended. Form dough into 3/4-inch balls. Bake on a greased cookie sheet for about 12 minutes. As the ball melts down during baking, the cookie develops the characteristic crinkled surface.

September 2017. To bake these as bar cookies they'll probably need at least five more minutes - check them with a toothpick.
